I set myself a goal a little while ago to create something to give to people to use, So i thought a lot of people need more space and they like to be able to take there files with them so i thought FTP server.
So i looked around online and found out how to do create one and i have worked on it for the last couple of weeks trying to make it as good as possible. The server is currently running Monday to Sunday but it will be down for about 2 hours on a Sunday for drive checks and clean up. So other than that down time it is up 24 hours a day.
Server Specs:
Processor: AMD FX 6100
HDD Space: 220gb Moving to 1TB soon as possible.
Internet Speed 50mb-100mb in June.
The specs above are as good as they can be for now as this is free and well if you would like to help me out then please do but i will be updating the service when i have the funds to do so.
Anyone can applie for an account i will be happy to make you one but it does take time because i am only one person and it has to be done Manually.
Connection Information:
Host: Minimonk.myftp.org
User: Your info
Password: Your Info
You could connect under the anonymous user, this will allow you to connect but you will only see one file and this is a view me.html which has information about how to get an account for the server.
Connecting:
Step 1: Get a Ftp Client such as filezilla or smart Ftp
Step 2: Connecting using you infomation.
Go to file Site Manger link in the picture below.
Then click on new site and Name it what you like I called mine "Minimonk's Ftp".
Once you have created the site fill in the information given to you by me on the left.
Once you have filled out the information on the top bar there will be transfer setting change that to Active/Passive which ever one works for you.
Once that is done you are ready to connect if everything has been done correctly then it will look like the following.
