News Service Xbox Wire Unveiled
To keep fans up to date with the latest happenings in the Xbox world, Microsoft has launched Xbox Wire – a new URL to point your browser to when you’re looking for news on Microsoft’s console.
Currently, announcements regarding Xbox 360 are normally via Major Nelson’s blog, or through press releases. In what looks like an effort to cut out the middle man, the general public can now head straight to Xbox Wire and get their fix. The news service will properly kick into gear on May 21 – the reveal date of the new Xbox. Xbox Wire editor Lisa Gurry promises those that visit will be pleased with what they see:
“You will be able to follow our journey as we bring you the best in games and entertainment and along the way we’ll introduce you to the people, places and technology that bring it all to life.”
Nintendo Direct, PlayStation Blog and now Xbox Wire. They’re all smart to reveal things on their own terms and this is a step in the right direction for the company. No doubt.
