Marvel's 'The Avengers' confirmed for Ubisoft Quebec
It is seeming increasingly likely that The Avengers will be made for Xbox 360 after all.
After THQ closed their Brisbane Australia Studio's back around September 2011, the best we ever saw of the ongoing development was the Pre-Alpha Gameplay, which I uploaded to Youtube as it was leaked to the community. At the same time, I started a new Youtube account as our new site was born and transferred the Pre-Alpha footage across to the new account, which recived over 14,000 hits and comments in abundance, which were absurdely positive. People were literally gutted that development had ceased.
I was therefore surprised last week when I received a Copyright Infringement notice on said game almost 6 months later, which I thought little about at the time, until I began thinking about why...
It was a huge surprise to see that The Avengers (the film) broke box office records, Joss Whedon's film racked up over $100m in the US, becoming the first movie ever to secure such a figure in its second week on release. It has since taken over 1 BILLION DOLLARS worldwide, which is going to make a lot of ears prick up in the THQ camp.
Add this to the fact that they seem to be weeding out certain Youtube video's and a lot of finger pointing and gossip starts circulating round the web.
After all, with film figures like that, it's increasingly likely that someone somewhere in THQ have been kicking themselves, if indeed, the game was cancelled as the studio closed, which was never actually admitted by the developer.
Who knows, we may even see it sooner than we think. Enjoy the Pre-Alpha Footage below.
