Starting Price Of Consoles In UK - Xbox One vs PS4

So how much do you think the average starting price of a next-gen console will be?

There has been lots of speculation, but it's less than likely than the developers will out price themselves, so what stats are they likely to use to decide the price (or at least the starting price?)

This isn't going to be a long post, I just wanted some opinions and heres mine. I think it should be maximum based on the average of male and female wage income per week.

Therefore, hopefully at least, we are looking at £199 - £299 (basic to bundle)

If the next gen keeps with these limits, the chances are, at least on launch, both devices will do quite decent sales.

I mean, it's not like Blu-ray is expensive these days and nothing has realistically even superceded it so far (although there is media 100 times better, it's a way off to the general mainstream gaming public right now) so not really worth talking about right now.

So, one thing you could do for me, is tell me the console type you pre-ordered, if you have pre-ordered and a budget limit you are expecting currently. Just add that in with any other comment you have regarding the latest next-gen . Don't forget to let us know where you purchased from also if thats the case. Until we have more news on the price - have your say.

I have had the Domain name MonkHosting for almost a year and i have not done a lot with it, I have finally started to do what i set out to do and that is to start a hosting company. I am in the early stages of this process i have setup the support ticket system and i have a under construction section for the rest of the site. I need a little advice on where to go from here because i have 2 options or that's how i see it anyways, I can start out only doing shared hosting so have one Dedicated machine that clients are on then when this reaches a certain capacity i get another server and do the same. or i can start in the VPS market which would still consist of Dedicated servers that are running software such as OpenVz which allows more than on server environment on the same machine.

I am a nerd when it comes to the CallofDuty series i am on all day till i get prestiged.

MW3 - 20TH - PS3 - PSN: xGHOSTxW3, was 10th deranked then went 11TH.

So im basically a nerd with the COD series and do have a life of my own but i just like gaming and find it very enjoyful.
Hopefully when BO II comes out i will get the highest prestige.

But i dont stay on the game after completion, infact i dont play at all after i complete a COD i just find it boring.

Nice when a foreigner pops it's head up

About a week ago, a mate of mine Joe, asked his friend to phone me and ask me to get in touch.

After establishing that I didn't have his number and receiving it, I spoke to the guy regarding wiring a building he had bought. Now I already work full-time so knew it was a bit of a challenge to fit it in with my busy lifestyle, but obviously the money will come in very handy. My first impressions was it was a call centre, but today after viewing the property, it is in fact a 1930's Co-op building (old supermarket).

It's a bit surreal when you walk in, cos top to bottom of the walls, is still the original shop fittings and shelving / drawers from when it was likely opened. It has all the names like sweets, butter, bread right round the top of the shelving and a clock built in as a centrepiece all in a grand oak finish. It's a shame really as this will likely all be ripped out now.

The building goes right up to the loft, which will be an office area. All the walls have been taken back to brick and are to be sanded down and painted. All the huge sturdy beams are to remain visible with only minor head room adjustments. Even the roof is tongue and groove wood with tiles nailed to it. Pretty remarkable how well built the old buildings were back in the day when cost was a second thought.

My main task is to provide lighting and power to the top floors to start with, after ensuring all wires are dead for his own team to rip out. There will be approx 20-25 sockets and lights to be added, some being Cat 2 for the computer area's. Should be a pretty good little job and it will be on top of my original wage and paid faster than my monthly pay, so all in all I'm looking forward to it.

I will add some photos via my phone or do a video next time I visit, obviously its nothing more than a shell but the original wood downstairs is quite lovely although very old.

I tried looking for a picture online and the closest I could find is the old Levenshulme Co-op but the building I will work on is not quite as tall as this one below.

Is it possible to ask this question?

After a simple reply to another post, regarding a Wii U, I led myself to a conclusion. Now you don't have to agree, let's get that straight right now, but could it be possible that a successful console, must in turn be hackable in the modern marketplace?

For a start, places like TTG have sky rocketed from nowhere since posting and utilising a community for info, across anything that requires electricity. If they made rampant rabbit's they would likely get more female members.

Se7ensins was also built for the same reason, lets face it, we love discovering hacks. It's the same with cheats, easter eggs etc, if not everyone can get it, we want it. That's the way things are. Like winning the lottery and buying an Aston Martin rather than a Ford Fiesta. We all want to be James Bond - Double O Licence to thrill.

Since COD4 and MW2 though, is this what we have become?

Now I can't say I have been the straightest gamer. If it was down to MS I would be banned even if I did nothing wrong today, a little like being a paedo, just based on past history, even if I said sorry, gave the prestiges back, donated the profits to charity and became a monk, it simply wouldn't matter, they would hate me like a guy on eBay hates a scammer. I can't help being smart. That's how I'm geared and occasionally I will cross a line. Boredom is a cruel cruel world and like an english man in Thailand, needs some relief. We know it's wrong yet we still do it. Why?

That's the kind of stuff it made me contemplate earler. Can a console be a success without being hackable? Personally I would say YES. The Xbox 360 was unhacked for years, so were the games, but if we had no Jtags, Lobbies, Ripped Discs, 7371 surprises etc, are we going to feel like we are missing out or are we going to sit poised for the first sniff of a rebel with a cause?

C4EVA has done wonders with flashed consoles. I think people know already that someone within M$ is passing the info, especially if you look how slow it was originally, back in the day. Most of the time it's job done, sat waiting for an update, before M$ even drop it onto XBL.

It feels exciting, Innovative, scary, gorgeous and like you are smart. No-one want's to feel like a dumb fuck after all. Well unless you are a dumb fuck of course.

We all love showing off, so what's there on the new console front? I can't go into any details with this, but I know for a fact that Infinity Ward actually released a patch for Black Op's. Slag me off all you want. I offer no proof at all. It was based on what happened with the creators. Let's not go there. A proof that IW weren't the only ones susceptible to the issue. A test. A statement. A reason and a conclusion. I totally understood it, for other's it was a patch, a way to hack, nothing more than either making money from an angle and a selling point.

I know that 55 > 80th is still possible on MW3 but haven't shared it with a soul. Why? Cos I love Infinity Ward for Cod 4. No other reason. Only 2 persons including myself even know how to do that. That I know of. It's hardly all over Youtube so it's likely a safe bet. Cheers Wes!

Without this 'break from the norm' though, things will become somewhat placid. Games will become boring faster, which is on the increase and I think we are all aware of it, especially those that report. Like myself, you have likely felt it in the mainstream. We enjoy the challenge and rise to it, like linford christie at his kid's sports day.

My money's on Xbox and IW. Me like!

There aren't truthfully, many games, that are released solely on the Playstation platform, that would tickle the fancy of the Xbox gamer. Maybe more the other way round in all fairness, as I'm sure there are a bucketload of Halo fans that wish this were the case, therefore it's quite surprising how 'The Last of Us', seems to have breached this barrier.

Maybe it's all the recent hype over the simple feature change of the 'new Ellie' but there is just something 3 Dimensional about this game, something earthed that intrigues all gamers such as myself.

The main characters are Joel and Ellie. Joel is a rogue and somewhat ruthless survivor from a pre-apocolypic era whereas Ellie aged just 14, has no real recollection of the old ways of life. Set in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at the outset of the story, they must kill and scavenge their defensive based lives through the storyline moving forth to surrounding area's.

Most recently released is the 'Ambush Truck Trailer'

First teased at the Spike Awards back in November 2011, it's likely one of those games you might actually just buy a PS3 to try the thing out - Not a lot of games you could say that about.

Personally, I preferred the old Ellie, oh and did I mention that Sony owe me some serious royalties for basing Ellie on my daughter?

Slated for early 2013 Release solely on the Playstation platform or is it?

How to help Modern Warfare 3 help You. (High Speed Latency Issues)

After months if not years of having latency on Modern Warfare & 2 & 3, I finally took the step, I didn't want to pay for and got a 2nd Internet Service Provider via TalkTalk.

Now the last thing anyone would want to do is downgrade any download speed they have adjusted to such as my 100 - 120mb, so I simply couldn't do that, therefore I asked a lot of friends what speeds they ran on and took the average speed from that, which worked out at approx 6mb. I did this, as they were saying that the game was playing fine for them. These are the persons I quizzed regarding their speeds.

Now just for one individual that may not understand this on N4G.com who has reported this blog twice, let me just pause to explain the situation. I have suffered from high speed latency issues on the Call Of Duty Series for a long time now. Being in a premier city in England, means that things come fast, such as faster broadband speeds. When 20mb came out, I was still in a heated battle on COD 4. Considering a lot of internet connections are still not running at that speed (to date) whether, because of choice, or ISP limitations, it was a really fast speed at that point in time and the fastest available in the UK. Since the release of MW3, I have upgraded twice more, to 50mb then to 100mb which was recently increased due to a package shuffle to 120mb. With me so far?

What I found however, once I went on 100mb, was that a slightly noticeable issue with latency, actually became a thorn in my side and created a game that was unplayable for me. At this point I had to find a resolution, starting with posts on the official game forum and then resulting in the post below.

Let's continue:

After several weeks playing online, my scores, kills, the lot have started to rise. More importantly, I can remain calm and quiet during a game. Anyone that's played with me online in their party or on their team, thought I just liked a good old rant. Untrue, it was a real issue for me.

Since having the new 2nd slower connection, I can confirm that not once has the dummy left the pram, no flying controllers breaking the sound barrier whilst objectively hurled across a room (missing any windows obviously), no my friends not a peep from me. It has worked out, that using a 6.2mb connection is actually great. I use it solely for my Xbox 360.

Therefore, if you suffer issues such as being shot from round a corner before a guy is even seen, take the hint and invest in a calming slower connection if your 1st ISP is just too fast - It's not like Activision have not been told, yet refuse to correct the issue. Yes, there is a monthly charge for a 2nd one, but you can shop around and it's worth it.

Don't bother trying to get a 2nd connection via your 1st provider, Virginmedia told me point blank it's not possible, so I had a BT line installed specifically for the Xbox connection.

Finally I can enjoy Modern Warfare 3 again. Shame I'm playing Prototype 2 at the moment but hey, them's the breaks kid. When Clan Op's comes round on the Elite site, it sure has made a big difference.

When Will Call of Duty Man Up?

It's official, I am a little girl when it comes to playing Call of Duty, but I swear your honour, it's not my fault honestly, cross my heart, hope to die.

Die, a word I am ultimately familiar with. With a K/D Ratio so low, they had to turn the graph upside down so there was space for the downhill slope. I am starting to feel like Eddie the Eagle it's so bad.

My issue is my broadband, no, my issue is the game won't run right on my broadband. Yes it's the much discussed Latency issue. For those unfamiliar, latency occurs for those on the higher broadband speeds, whereby due to ping rate, your video is retarded so that those on slower speeds can catch up. It is essentially a balance of play to make things fair.

What I want to know is, who the hell came up with the equation for it, as I have a little something I would like to post them to say thanks. It's actually that bad, so bad in fact that I am now in the process of taking a 2nd ISP just for my Xbox 360. So instead of the super-fast 100Mb I enjoy at home, it will be a meagre 6.2Mb to prevent latency and avoid being the host. Pretty unheard of eh? Most people want a faster speed, well I sit in the alternate group on this one.

A lot of people naturally blame my lack of skill, but no it is more than the fact I have little skill. I don't claim to be brilliant at any game, other than Mariokart, which I would win whilst drinking a bottle of vodka with one eye closed. This is actually a really serious issue with the game itself. Just take a look through the official forums and you will see literally hundreds of others in the same position as myself.

The main issue is, it's actually a very boring subject, so the attention span of anyone listening will diminish faster than a cake round a fat kid. How then, can this be portrayed to Call of Duty and be taken seriously and resolved?

I have a solution but it will require the help of the entire gaming community. Please start knocking on all doors in your area, find a fat kid, promise more cake if he reports it on the forums. Obesity is up so this should not prove too hard a plan, they can have the cake, all I want is my slice of fun too.

Consoles NEED to cost upward of £500 / US 700 Minimum - Here's why!

The world is in revolution. It's not just happening in the street, it's everywhere.

The guy that last brushed past you with the latest phone and didn't see you cos he was travel gaming.
The lady gamer watching her clan crush another team whilst on the bus, locked in to Twitch TV.
Hell even Sir Alan Sugar uses Twitter.

Now TV has gone some way to develop itself into a Multimedia centre and we all know Microsoft have made revolutionary jumps, way ahead of it's competition. LCD, higher resolution screens, touchscreen, 3D and soon we will have the results from Tohoku University and Sony hitting the market in the form of a disc with 20x the capacity of a BluRay disc.

For all this technology to be incorporated into any product, requires licensing fees and production, before this, came design, research and development. For gaming consoles to stand a chance in the next Gen form, they will require a hell of a lot of this technology to come in abudance for it to be even noticed.

Here's the issue - PC

PC's don't come with a warranty seal and even if your's did, if you were even remotely interested in upgrading said device, there is little chance it will make it past a bench in your own home. We desire to keep costs down, so will at least attempt to fit any 3rd party addon ourselves or with a friend. Cue the seal tear where applicable.

How will it be possible for that to happen with PS4 or Xbox Durango? Sure there are loads of us that are quite comfortable delving into a 360 to swap a laser or add whisper fans or even 12 volt fan mod the original, which sounds a lot like a G6 ready for take-off. It is however, much less likely that the new foreign body sat in front of you in the form of next Gen material on launch day, will have you feeling quite so brave. Why? There's no Youtube to help, no experience to be found out there.

For this single reason, next Gen units need a serious upgrade. Its no longer Xbox vs Playstation vs Wii. What once seemed a natural battle up until 3rd quarter of 2011 is no more. Remember that guy that brushed past you in the street? He was gaming remember.

The new war is Mobile vs Tablet vs PC vs Console and I fear for the safety of the traditional console full stop.

Recent figures have shown that Apple have come a long way in securing not only iPhone but also iPad users from approx 39% of students, who are of course the future of gaming in a lot of aspects. Us old dogs aren't as relevent as this young breed of techno wizard, as the garden grass is looking a bit long and we may need to pull out the lawnmower. A similar amount of market capture has been found unsurprisingly in the gaming sector - Take Angry Birds, one of the first indications of a shift in marketplace structure.

Gaming is a disease. That's right we should all be claiming 'incapacitity to do anything else' benefit. However, in a busy social structure, we need to multi-task and last time I checked, my 360 simply will not fit in my pocket. You know where I am leading with this, yes, a tablet or phone CAN go with you. It is the fact that this mini-friend is with us all the time that makes us so comfortable using it. What can console manufacturer's do to break this cycle once we reach our abode?

Well, lets look at their options:-

Built in Sim Technology
Built in 5Ghz Wi-Fi
Future Disc Compatibility
Solid State Hard Drives
3D Technology for all Media
4G Wireless Technology

These are just the first few things I could cough up in 2 mins. I am sure there is much much more and I won't get into removeable Graphics Cards, which I personally would love to see on the Durango after it's multi-billion dollar lead-free Xenon / Falcon Mistake.

If Microsoft (Yes I'm an MS boy and proud) would stick their neck out and insert most of this technology into the next console then I'm onboard as a customer. Sure, the initial cost will have my eyes smarting faster than a french man pedalling down a road, but I will live with the guilt and divorce is relatively simple these days, should you be married and have disobeyed your spouse for the last time.

You see, I don't want cheap, I don't want value. I want the best MOFO console with the most technology inside.

If you disagree with me, fine, but before you do, just picture the console described above for a second.

For that, I will turn off my Twitter, put the phone in a draw, and turn off my PC till I get my money's worth on my favourite gadget.

Now don't have a hissy fit but games will be approx £100 / $130 dollars. Make no mistake. But we always pay now don't we. Let's just get the best damn experience we can. We only live once. If you don't like it, look out your window at the length of that grass. TUT TUT.

Dreading MW4 IF I EVER BUY IT!

Below is a post I added to the callofduty.com forums. I will update as necessary - that's if they bother to god damn answer.....

Based on what I have seen on MW3 it's unlikely I will ever buy MW4 or any other variation of this game for the simple reason of latency. I spent the money buying the game, I went Founder Elite, I complained about the lag compensation and it just seems to get worse daily as the other scripts to help noobs get a kill, also come into play.

I fail to see how after thousands of posts, these people in America cannot understand that a person in the UK on 120mb Cable connection are not getting slaughtered out on the game.

I recently posted my internet speed and it was 102mb on the PC with 2 laptops connected online and the Xbox was also online, with an upload speed of 9.56mb also on the PC. My K/D Ratio is 0.something and I am good at the game, but it's of little use, if on my screen I cannot shoot more than a bullet and always appear to get 1/2 shotted.

At what point are Activision actually going to address this issue properly? There have been so many complaints, who is actually running the Multiplayer based game edits here as I have never seen anything so poor since a treyarch COD which was World At War.

I own a very advanced social / gaming website (GaminGuys.com) and frequently post to Digg, N4G.com Twitter and I have a Community Fan page on Facebook. All these people hear, read and see all the things I say but there has been no resolution since game spawn.

Is this a boat with no captain?

I request that a member of staff explain to me how I can get my money back for both Elite and MW3. Enough is Enough. I am at the point where the DLC adverts are now more fun than the game I used to love. I can't help my clan because of the lag so Elite is pointless, I can't play the game, I can't play a competitive ELITE game, the DLC is useless for these reasons also.

I will expect a reply within 48hrs or will be seeking legal advice. I have thought about this long and hard now, when the fixes are not forthcoming, it's clear no-one actually gives a crap.

Either reduce lag compensation back down to COD4 standards or I want my money back! Just to be clear, I do NOT play Battlefield 3 either. I am a Trader with Centresoft and Gem Distribution. Not good when a reseller of games has to make a post is it?

I require both a reply and answers with dates.

Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City Part 2

Unfortunately I did not manage to do another 2 blogs on this game, which surprisingly was not human error, but another bad point to the game which was a shock!

Another shock to me is that I managed to find some good points:
The first I have found is, in many games when you are in campaign the enemy fire is mostly concentrated on you. But In Resident Evil: ORC the concentration of the zombies and enemy fire are more spread across the team which gives you more of a chance in the higher difficulties. As you have probably realised I have decided to mention the good points first, which seldom came.

The second good point is when playing several recent games such as COD:MW3 and GOW:3 and so on. You tend to find that they are too easy even on the hardest difficulty, but not Resident Evil if you don't know what your doing you can easily get shot to shreds or over run by the infected.

The third and final good point about the game is mostly to do with the plot and film. In the film the general plot is that they tried to make a cure for cancer and it went totally wrong. In the film, as everyone knows if you get bit or scratched the characters will turn into the infected. Now the game has finally swung in that direction if you don't get the antidote you turn into the infected and have to resort to killing your own team.

But the good is also the bad as they made it a challenge they made it far too short, Which says to me that they focused too much on the minor aspects, so the major aspects suffered for it. which is why I could not do 2 more blogs and had to settle with 1 more. All in all they have made it 7 episodes/ levels across the whole game. So if you want to upgrade your guns and abilities and complete the achievements you would have to continue completing the missions over and over again. Personally going over and over the same missions would be far too tedious and I would not enjoy it one bit.

Several times in the game you have little movie clips that help you understand the game, and as in any game these little clips have facial figures in them and the facial graphics are fair to poor for a so called iconic game.

So if I was to give this game a rating given all I have said it would have to be 60/100.
